Several people seem to have got it to work, and I'm sure it's something on my end that is going wrong. I tried this, and neither of those file types appear to be supported by my Kindle App. Some solutions I found on this forum are to use the Page Count plugin for Calibre and to use KFX and AZW files. My understanding is that page numbers are actually on a separate file other than the mobi file, and so they do not 'come with' the mobi when I open it on my iPad's Kindle App. The books I do upload have page numbers on my wife's kindle, but not on my iPad. I have tried to open books in Kindle directly from my iPad's files app and that didn't work either. There is a Search box on the Kindle Notebook website, which in theory. Unfortunately, if you have highlighted a lot of text, the website will truncate quotes for copyright reasons. I vastly prefer page numbers to the 'Location' system. To search notes and annotations within a single book, which is to visit the Kindle Notebook website, open your notes for that book and use Find in your browser. However, when I emailed myself some books to add to my library, I found they were missing page numbers. I checked out the new (to me, at least) Kindle app on iPad and really liked it. let you get a library card directly inside Libby, using your phone number. I'm a former Kindle user who switched to iBooks several years ago. Libby is used by millions of library patrons all over the world to enjoy. Since the Kindle app was developed by Amazon, I thought I'd start here. If not, finding page numbers on a Kindle remains as easy as possible.Hello! I wasn't sure if this should go in the Apple forum or the Kindle forum. Some readers will always be most comfortable seeing the traditional page number, but the point is that other options are out there if you want to give them a chance. It's the same basic idea as a page number, and it can actually be more accurate for finding a specific page/location thanks to how much text size can vary from Kindle to Kindle. For example, instead of seeing a book as having 350 pages, it may have 3420 locations numbers. Since Kindles (and all e-readers) come with varying display sizes and customizable font, location numbers use lines of text to help readers track where they are in a book. This is basically the standardized way of tracking reading progress on Kindles. In these situations, it may be helpful to use the 'Location in book' option. Most Kindle books should support traditional page numbers, though users are likely to come across certain titles that don't. ![]() If under 'Print length' it shows the number of pages, that means users can see normal page numbers as if they were reading the physical book. Head to Amazon, search for a book, and select its Kindle version. ![]() Users can also confirm this before downloading or buying a Kindle book. Read anytime, anywhere on your phone, tablet, or computer. Not All Kindle Books Support Page Numbers Turn your phone or tablet into a book with the free Kindle apps for iOS, Android, Mac, and PC. If a book supports it, it'll eventually show the page number. ![]() This cycles through a few different reading progress options. To see page numbers on a Kindle, all users have to do is the following: Open a book on the Kindle and tap the bottom-left corner of the screen. It's the same page number as what's found in the physical copy of a book, so sharing progress with friends regardless of how they're reading is a cinch. While digging through a good book, select Kindle titles show the current page someone is on. Signature EditionĪnother way Kindles preserve the traditional reading experience is by showing page numbers. They're lightweight, can hold thousands of books at once, and are often very affordable. Plus, with e-ink technology used on all Kindles, reading on them is every bit as comfortable as looking at a traditional book. Will all of that said, it's also difficult not to appreciate the convenience of an e-reader.
